WELCOME TO
THE REWILDING STUDIO
Maybe you’re tired of feeling like everything is a lot.
You’re keeping up with work, family, relationships and all the ordinary responsibilities of life. From the outside, you might even look like you’re managing it well.
But inside, you feel overwhelmed.
Your mind rarely stops. There’s always something to remember, something to plan, or someone who needs something from you. And even when you finally have a moment to yourself, slowing down can feel surprisingly difficult.
That’s what we explore here.
Through therapeutic wellness workshops, The Rewilding Studio brings together psychology, mindfulness, grounding and nature to help you better understand yourself and find practical ways to feel more present and grounded in everyday life.

Hi, I’m Ashley — the person behind The Rewilding Studio.
For more than 15 years, my work has centred around people.
I’ve worked as a teacher, school administrator and, most recently, a Specialized Employment Counsellor with WorkBC. The roles have changed over the years, but I kept finding myself curious about the same things.
Why do we become who we become? How much are we shaped by our environments, relationships and experiences? And how much of ourselves do we adapt to fit what’s expected of us?
A few years ago, I came across something that gave me a completely different way of thinking about those questions.
I was walking through an upscale neighbourhood where every lawn seemed perfectly maintained. Trimmed grass. Carefully placed plants. Everything neat and exactly where it was supposed to be.
And then I passed one that wasn’t.
It was completely unruly.
Tall grasses, native plants and greenery seemed to be growing everywhere, tangled together like a tiny, chaotic forest in the middle of this otherwise manicured neighbourhood.
Nothing appeared trimmed, arranged or particularly concerned with staying where it belonged.
And in the middle of it was a small sign:
REWILDING IN PROGRESS
I remember stopping to look at it.
Because suddenly the yard looked different to me.
It wasn’t neglected. The chaos was intentional. The homeowners had made a conscious choice to let the land return to what it once was — allowing native plants to grow where a perfectly manicured lawn was expected.
And something about that stayed with me.
Because I started wondering how often we allow ourselves the same freedom.
We learn what we’re supposed to look like. How we’re supposed to behave. What success looks like. What a good mother, partner or professional does.
We trim. We maintain. We adapt.
And sometimes we get so good at becoming what’s expected of us that we never stop to wonder what might have grown there naturally.
That little sign eventually came to mean something much bigger to me.
Rewilding in progress. Not becoming someone else. Not throwing away everything we’ve cultivated. Just becoming curious about which parts of us were deliberately chosen, which were shaped by expectation, and which haven’t been given much room to grow at all.
That idea became The Rewilding Guide — and eventually, The Rewilding Studio.
It also gave language to questions I’d been asking throughout my career about people, behaviour and the ways our experiences shape us. Those questions are part of what eventually brought me to counselling psychology.
Today, I’m completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, bringing together more than 15 years of professional experience with my interests in psychology, mindfulness, nature and human behaviour.
Through The Rewilding Studio, I offer 1:1 psychologically informed mindfulness and wellness experiences and group workshops, alongside writing and resources that explore many of these same ideas.
I’m not particularly interested in telling people who they should become.
I’m much more interested in getting curious about who we’ve already become — and why.
Rewilding in progress. Aren’t we all?
