Here we go.

It's the end of August, 2026. I am sitting in my living room with binders, paper, and books spread out chaotically across the coffee table. Laptop in lap.

I am experiencing a moment of joy. The nostalgic joy of rushing to end the summer and meticulously combing through school supplies to make sure they are all present and to best prepare myself for the upcoming year of learning.

This is my happy place.

Well, one of them.

There is something about starting out on a new journey. Especially one that is planned, intentional.

On one hand, there is a nervousness about and pressure regarding the courseload, managing a household while completing a Master's degree, and trying to maintain my health and be a contributing member of the community.

On the otherhand, I am so excited to bathe in the world of academia once again. To be exposed to new concepts, reflect on different theories, and learn new skills.

All of which will add to my lived and professional experiences thus far and enrich my approach to working with others once I open my practice.

If you enjoy learning about psychology, human behaviour, and why we do what we do, please follow along as I write in my blog each week about what I have been learning in school and in life.

Kind regards,

Ashley
